Raymond Alexander Sadowski Jaroc, veteran U.S. Army, Korea, died peacefully at his home in Oak Park early Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012. While illness had slowed him recently, Ray enjoyed a full and happy life among friends and family. Ray Jaroc was born Sept. 5, 1930 in Chicago, the son of Alexander Sadowski and Bernice Sadowski Jaroc. Jaroc married the former Madeline DeVincent Aug. 29, 1953 in Chicago. He was the loving father of Susan (William) Watson and cherished grandfather of Matthew, the light of his life; dear brother of Rita Massel, and brother-in-law Salvator (Barbara) DeVincent; he was the fond uncle of Joe (Kate), Philip and Alan (Linda) DeVincent, Mike Massel, Sharon (Warren) Fellingham III, and grandnieces and nephews Kristen, Jason, Andrew, Marcella, Jennifer and Steven Devincent and Warren Fellingham IV. Ray was well-known throughout his neighborhood as the always helpful handyman who enjoyed woodworking and the Bears. Friends will not forget his generous heart and love of family and friends. Visitation Sunday, February 19th from 3 to 9 p.m. at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home, 203 S. Marion St., Oak Park. Visitation Monday, February 20th from 10 a.m. until time of Mass 11 a.m. at St. Edmund Church, 188 S. Oak Park Ave., Oak Park. Private Entombment Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
